As our walk comes nearer here is an update regarding parking and registration.
The starting point for our walk is Ahilnane. The easiest way to find your way to the start is the use the eircode of the house where the Boys of Kilmichael stayed on the night before the Ambush. It’s P47 VR80. We will have stewards on hand to help with parking.
We’re hoping to operate a one way system in order to avoid having cars and walkers meeting. We are asking participants to follow the route above arriving to Ahilnane from the Enniskeane side rather than the Round Tower side. We will have stewards in place at Kenneigh to direct traffic.
We’ll have ample parking available at Ahilnane. Again stewards will direct you when you arrive.
As per earlier information there will also be parking available in Kilmichael for groups who decide to car pool and have one car at Kilmichael and another in Ahilnane.

We will also be taking registrations on the day at both of the starting points, €10 per person to a maximum of €20 per family.
Please also be advised that part of the route is a farm passage and will be quite wet and muddy at this time of year. We would also ask participants to wear high vis attire if possible.
Finally we hope that everyone will enjoy this event as we remember the bravery and determination of the Boys of Kilmichael who completed a similar route under very different conditions and circumstances.
