A message from our Chairperson

At our recent AGM John Paul O’Callaghan was elected Chairperson, taking over the role from P.J. O’Mahony who had completed 3 years in the post. We are lucky to great clubmen like John Paul & P.J. who give their time freely for the good of our Club and community. Below is a message from John Paul for Christmas and the year ahead.

“A Chairde

Christmas is almost here and although our ‘normal’ celebrations may not be able to take place, I hope everyone can share the Christmas spirit in some way or another.  Diarmuid O Mathunas would like to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a safe and healthy New Year.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody who has given so generously of their time to support the Club in its many activities through this past year . It has been a difficult time for everyone . We have a large number of volunteers working in various roles throughout the Club and hopefully many more will join the cause in 2022.
I wish to say a sincere thanks our sponsors in these hard times cause we know it can’t be easy. In addition I want to thank all our members, supporters and friends who support our club draw and wish ye all a happy Christmas

However we all must continue to work together, always mindful that the club is larger than any one individual and that our ambition is to pass the club to the next generation in a stronger position than which we found it.

For those only watching from the sidelines, let 2022 be the year you make a contribution and get involved in club activity in some small way.  Any job, no matter how small can make a big difference to the smooth working of the Diarmuid O Mathuna family

Happy Christmas too everyone

Yours in sport
John Paul O Callaghan
Chairperson”
